System of Care (SOC)

A system of care (SOC) is an organizational philosophy and framework that involves collaboration across agencies, families, and youth for the purpose of improving access and expanding the array of coordinated community-based services and supports that helps children, youth and families function better at home, in school, in the community and throughout life. Core values of a system of care philosophy specify that services and supports should be: family driven and youth guided, community-based, culturally and linguistically competent, and evidence informed.
