Hinds Behavioral Health Services Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) offers individuals with serious mental illness (SMI) and their families who have been ordered through the civil court system to receive outpatient treatment within Hinds County the ability to improve their health and social outcome. AOT delivers evidence-based practices to reduce the incidence and duration of psychiatric hospitalizations, homelessness, incarcerations, and interactions with the criminal justice system.

In addition to outpatient offices in each county served, Communicare operates a group home for women who have serious mental illness and a residential substance abuse treatment center, and provides school based services in several public educational systems.
