NAMI Vicksburg Affiliate Meeting on Tuesday, October 23

You are cordially invited to hear guest speaker Judge Toni Walker Terrett present on “Addressing the Need for Crisis Intervention Training and Mental Health Courts” from her perspective as a practicing attorney and municipal judge. She has long been an active community leader whose articles on mental illness and domestic violence have helped educate the community. She was present at the Mental Health Town Hall meeting on CIT in April, at the CIT followup meeting in July, and the CIT Strategy meeting in September . Her background has included being a Drug Court Public Defender, a project director for the Vicksburg Domestic Violence Victims’ Empowerment program, president of the board of directors for the Mountain of Faith Ministries, a mass communications law and social media teacher at Alcorn, a church musician, and a mom of five teens among many other titles.

Judge Terrett will be speaking on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 6 p.m. in the Warren Yazoo Behavioral Health Conference Room, 3444 Wisconsin Ave., Vicksburg.  [Upon turning from Wisconsin Ave. into the campus of WY, the Administration Building is the first one on your left.  The front entrance will be locked so go to the right end of the building and around the corner and enter the Conference Rm. through the double glass doors under the portico.]
This presentation will be hosted by NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Vicksburg as a part of their mental health awareness series and a follow up to Mental Illness Awareness Week.  The public is invited.  Feel free to share this invitation with your contacts.
