NAMI Four Rivers (MS) Affiliate Meeting on Thursday, November 21
Greetings to our Four Rivers community once again. It’s time to announce plans for our 4th Quarter 2019 affiliate meeting in McComb. Our meeting will be held at the McComb Public Library on November 21 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge to attend.
We will take a slightly different approach to our meeting this quarter. In the past, we have had guest speakers to make a presentation. These meetings have been very good and allowed the great people in the McComb area (plus others who attended) to learn about NAMI and get to know some of the services we can provide. For this meeting, rather than speakers with a structured agenda, we propose a “drop in” format so that we can listen and learn about you and your needs. We invite you to stop by anytime between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm to share a soda and snack with us while we get to know you better and understand how we can match our resources with your needs. We will have brochures available to help with information and support. This is a really important meeting for us to learn exactly how we can focus our resources on your most pressing needs.
In addition, we offer a special invitation to all the law enforcement officers who have been trained as CIT officers to stop by. We are preparing a small token of appreciation and recognition for those involved in the CIT effort in all of our Four Rivers region. There has been great progress in 2019 in Pike County with the CIT program. We want to express our appreciation for what you’ve done.
We will have our NAMI Four Rivers MS affiliate Steering Team present along with some representatives of your local community mental health center, A Clear Path. Please drop in during this time to meet with us and discuss your needs and interests going forward.. Instead of a “Lunch and Learn” this time, it will be a “Listen and Learn” approach. Hope to see you there!
