ADVOCACY ALERT: CMS Proposes Payment Increases for Inpatient Psychiatric Facilities
From the National Council on Behavioral Health:
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has proposed increasing Medicare payments for inpatient psychiatric facilities (IPFs) by 1.7 percent, or $75 million, for FY 2020. The proposed rule would update Medicare payment policies and rates for the IPF Prospective Payment System and the IPF Quality Reporting Program in an effort to better align payment rates with the actual costs of providing care. The rule is expected to cover roughly 1,600 facilities across the country.
